ADAM LAMBERT LOST BECAUSE OF HIS SEXUAL ORIENTATION?
Adam Lambert was a shoo-in. He consistently brought his 'A' game to the show and proved himself an innovative, amazing vocalist and a versatile artist which brought the house down week after weirdly wonderful week throughout the whole season. I just loved watching him every week. I was amazed at his song interpretation and raw talent, and how he made old songs sound current. Most of his performances could easily be radio hits. I was always excited to see what he would do next. However, when Ryan Seacrest announced the winner was Kris Allen, my mouth just dropped wide open and I couldn't say anything. I was utterly utterly shocked. Well, Kris looked shocked too. Moments after winning, he mumbled "But Adam deserves this...". Kris was just so humble and sweet. Anyway, Adam was very classy in handling the whole thing. He graciously approached to place a brotherly arm around Kris' shoulder in a gesture of encouragement, and he's genuinely happy for Kris. What an awesome guy he is!
Although Adam didn't seem to upset that he lost, the Glambert fans sure were, with many of them claiming Christians hated Adam because of his sexual orientation and that's why he lost. I almost hate to bring this up because I really don't care and this is totally his personal life, but was that really a factor in him losing? It's not necessarily the case. It's true that it did make some people, especially Christians, vote for Kris or against Adam, but I think it's not the only reason why Adam lost. First of all, Ryan didn't say the voting was close when he announced the winner. So, I easily assume that Kris didn't just barely win. Second of all, it seemed that the younger generation generally liked Kris better because Kris was a much easier pill to swallow. Teenagers, even the middle-agers, are not only number one voters of American Idol, but also experts at text-messaging which may have made the difference here. But the overblown AT&T voting scandal really sounded a little crazy. Well, a couple of over-zealous AT&T employees might have given out free phones at the 'power text' parties where Kris' fans in Arkansas were instructed how to send 10 or more votes with the sending of one text message, but it's unlikely to be a conspiracy of any kind. People, Relax! I think the other reasons might have been that the southerners particularly love watching American Idol and love voting for their own. Kris is from the South and could easily generate a lot of votes from here. Together with another broad vote base from Danny Gokey's Christian supporters, the fellow evangelical Christian Kris possibly won the title by a lot over Adam. True or not, it really doesn't matter because they both have made it this far. Adam and Kris are more like brothers and friends than competitors. They know how the game works and 'American Idol' is no different from any other stepping stones to the industry. It's not about the result that night, it's about the opportunities and experiences they gained from the show and what's going to happen next. For sure, they both have no trouble selling records and will probably have a brilliant career ahead of them. So, why can't we just be happy for them?
ADAM LAMBERT LOSING IS A BLESSING IN DISGUISE?
Adam is by far the most exciting, entertaining and talented frontman this show has ever had. In fact, when he performs on the stage, you would have thought him to be a professional singer already. Adam has got the whole package (i.e. a hottie with a lot of talent). He's the real deal and definitely right on the money! So, people thought that Adam was robbed probably because they all knew and believed that he's a better singer than Kris in terms of pure vocal ability and stage presence. Apparently, what the title of American Idol means is different to different people. In this case, the title may have gone to the person (Kris) America most likes instead of the best singer (Adam). The thing is that the best doesn't always win 'Idol'. This has happened a couple of times in Idol's history – remember Jennifer Hudson and Chris Daughtry?
That said, many times the runner-up achieves much more success than the actual winner. In short, losing American Idol isn't a career death sentence, and winning American Idol does not guarantee success. Adam Lambert? You've got nothing to worry about. So, Glambert fans, you'd better not take it too hard! Let's look at the bright side... Win or lose, Adam is without a doubt 'A Super Star'. He didn't need to win American Idol to have a successful career. Soon after the season finale, it was rumored that Queen asked Adam to join the band as lead singer. Amazing, huh? As amazing as it sounded, I don't think it's a good idea for Adam to join Queen. He needs to step out on his own in order to make his mark on modern music. Why in the world would he want to be known as somebody's fill-in? Seriously, Adam is on the very brink of becoming a music icon and I'm so thrilled for getting to witness a legend in the making! I'm hoping Adam will put all his weird and wild rock-pop-electronic-dance stuff in his coming multi-genre album.
ADAM LAMBERT STAYS TRUE TO HIMSELF!
In fact, Adam and Kris are two different artists, in two different genres and in two different styles. I don't see there's any reason to keep comparing the two. I think they both are champions in very different ways. Adam is simply because he outperformed every single week throughout the whole season, while Kris is because he got the title for he's a sweet and likeable guy with a beautiful voice that intimately connects with audiences. And the thing is that he's also very talented and America genuinely liked him. However, Adam is the ultimate champion because his amiable personality, brains, charisma, sense of humor, sensational stage presence, a terrific voice and incredible musical artistry will propel him to the super-iconic status. So, let's look forward and be excited about his coming album and the rest of his career. While I'm one of the huge Glambert fans, I think it's not cool to say that millions of Kris' supporters were only voting for him because they hated Adam's personal life or AT&T may have helped Kris win 'American Idol'... bluh bluh bluh... But casting hate votes against the various sectors of society that Adam appears to stand for and ignoring his true talent because of the gender he is attracted to? These people surely have some serious problems! His personal life is nobody's business! People, we're in the 21st century and there's a BLACK president! Live it! Learn it! Love it! I didn't know that people's gender preference would affect their musical talent. I'm going to be taking his music home with me, not his personal life! Let's go forward and not backward. Leave Adam's personal life and Christian...whatever religious out of this, and look at the true talent that is before you. Adam Lambert is literally an AMAZING entertainer/vocalist/artist. Isn't that what it is all about? I so respect and admire Adam for being confident and true to himself all the way through and most of all, not afraid to be who he is. When asked about those kissing-guys photos of him, he casually said, "I have nothing to hide, I am who I am and this is about singing, nothing else...I am an entertainer, it doesn't change anything ... I've never been shy about anything." which is another reason why he rocks. I also adore him for he's so down to earth and consistently polite, and always so answered questions on point with such eloquence.
So, [GLAM]? Yup. [ROCKER]? Sure. [THEATRICAL]? Guess where he performed before 'Idol'? You're right. 'Theatre'! It's just one way of performing and it's his way! Take it or leave it! [Kissing other guys]? Who cares? The fact remains he is a true talented artist that never ceases to deliver a great performance with breathtaking vocals! He's been nothing but an entertainer with honor through the whole process. I'm hoping that Adam will keep presenting himself in public and on various stages just as the way he presented himself on the show. I like Adam just the way he is. I personally like seeing someone out of the ordinary in the music world. His voice alone without any music would be beautiful music to my ears. Adam, please stay cool, stay true and keep rocking my world! Thanks again Adam for being YOU!!!!!!!!!!
ADAM LAMBERT'S PRE-IDOL PERFORMANCES
Adam was born in Indiana on January 29, 1982. When he was one year old, his family moved to Rancho Peñasquitos, a San Diego suburb. He grew up and attended elementary school, middle School, and high school there where he was in theater, choir, and a jazz band. He has been a stage actor since he was about 10 years old; and his father, a former DJ, exposed him to various types of music. He took private voice lessons and eventually appeared in several musicals, including the role of Lynus in "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown" at the Lyceum Theater. He has also appeared in "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat," "Grease," "Chess," and "Ten Commandments" with Val Kilmer.
After high school, he moved to Orange County for college which only lasted for about five weeks. He decided that what he really wanted to do was try to work in the real entertainment world and thought that "Life is all about taking risks to get what you want." After his casting in a six-month European tour of the musical "Hair", he began to make appearances as a glam rock soul alter ego in The Zodiac Show at The Henry Fonda Music Box and Club Makeup at the Key Club. He has also performed at the Burning Man art festival over the past two years. After gaining credibility on the club circuit, he landed his breakout role in "The Ten Commandments" at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles. His tour de force performance of "Is Anybody Listening" even became a press and crowd favorite.
Before auditioning for American Idol, Adam was busy with his musical theater, writing music, and performing in a band, and was also part of the ensemble cast of the production of "Wicked" in Los Angeles. He saw 'American Idol' as the perfect way to launch his career in the direction he intended and there he went! With over 15 years of experience and training in professional musical theatre, he consistently delivered commanding and high-energy live performances. What makes him stand out is his brilliant and powerful VOICE. Perhaps, due to his musical theater roots, the judges sometimes thought that he was too theatrical. Well, I wasn't surprised at all when Freddie Mercury is one of his favorite singers. It's just his way of performing! Many great artists including David Bowie, Madonna, and Michael Jackson etc. often use theatricality and drama in their performances, and I was only glad that Adam brought something different for the show.
Mt. Carmel High School Graduation
Adam sang 'Its so Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday' at his Mt Carmel High School graduation in 2000. He had his natural hair color (blonde) back in the day which was cute and all, but dying his hair black was the smartest thing he did about changing up his looks! It definitely is more eye-catching than the light hair.

"I Got This" Photo-Video
"Pop Goes the Camera" Photo-Video
[1 verse] I got drive so I'll survive in Hollywood where I will thrive.
I'll arrive, I'll take a drive into the pool, into the hive.
I won't break I'm what it takes, I'll make my mark like an earthquake.
Raise the stakes I'm wide awake be in your sight, 'til your head aches.
[Chorus] Fascination, Saturation stars are just like us.
Validation, Exploitation all cause a big fuss.
POP POP! Goes the camera. Fifteen minutes of fame.
POP POP! Goes the camera. Fifteen minutes right now.
POP POP POP POP POP! Look at me, Look at me in a magazine.
POP POP! Goes the camera. Fifteen minutes of fame.
[2 verse] Cross promotion Cross the ocean I'll make bank off of their devotion.
Drink the potions Cause commotions Got them feeling strong emotions.
I'll inspire, They'll admire, Won't turn on me 'cause i got fire.
Fame expires, I'll retire but I'll hold on down to the wire.
[Repeat chorus] [Instrumental] I've been told each flash steals your soul.
Every celebrity knows fame takes it's toll. [Repeat chorus last time]

ADAM LAMBERT'S IDOL JOURNEY
It's been such a wonderful ride watching Adam steal the hearts of every audience, song by song. There's something very enchanting about his voice. Spooky yet angelic. He has electrifying white-hot talent and superstar quality that wipes the stage. He's also striking to look at. Not the typical pretty-boy pop star, but he is sexy, stylish and funky/edgy. I particularly like the leather-jacketed, crazed look of a rock star chic with jewelry and black nail polish he's doing on the show. He really has a great face for eyeliner/eye shadow and his dark hair made his eyes and face a million times more smoldering HOT!

'Bohemian Rhapsody' by Queen
During his initial audition, he sang Michael Jackson's 'Rock with You' (not aired) and Queen's 'Bohemian Rhapsody' which he quickly gained the spotlight. It's very Broadway indeed! 'Theatrical' has become his middle name ever since! I've had my eyes on him the second he finished his audition and I had championed him all the way through this season.

'Believe' by CherDuring Hollywood week, Adam sang 'What's up' for his first solo (not aired) and 'Some Kind of Wonderful' for his group performance. Then, he sang Cher's 'Believe' for his second solo which was certainly a bizarre choice and he delivered it brilliantly with his powerful vocal which impressed all the judges and the viewers.

Interviews with Adam Lambert (Top 36):'Satisfaction' by The Rolling Stones
In his Top 36 semifinal audition ('Billboard Hot 100 Hits to Date' week), Adam again wowed the judges and the viewers with his incredibly crazy range on The Rolling Stones' 'Satisfaction'. His vocal was just unbelievably marvelous! His stage presence was amazingly nuts! With his professional showmanship, Adam simply out sang every single contestant that night.

Interviews with Adam Lambert (Top 13):
'Black and White' by Michael Jackson
Adam went on receiving huge raves for his theatrical over-the-TOP performance of 'Black and White' on 'Michael Jackson' night (Top 13 Performance), with Paula Abdul predicting that he would go on to the finals. When I mean 'TOP', it is top as in as HIGH as it could get! The thing with him is that you're never going to have a problem with him going off-key or anything. It's just another superb and solid performance showing his inconceivably high vocal range. He was completely in his own league and was the one to beat.
oxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo
'Ring of Fire' by Anita Carter
Adam's 'Ring of Fire' performance on 'Grand Ole Opry' night (Top 11 Performance) was extremely polarizing and was probably the most controversial one the show has ever had. The judges didn't really know what to make of it, and Simon Cowell apparently didn't like it much and called it 'Indulgent Rubbish'. ‘Indulgent’? Yup. ‘Rubbish’? I strongly disagreed. It's kinda bizarre, exotic, sexy, alluring which I couldn't put it into exact words! And I loved it! I actually think that he creatively reinvented the song and rocked it by not only putting his unique and charming spin on the song, but also owning the song. Everything about his performance was SENSATIONAL - his pitch, his stage presence, his delivery! Country or not, you gotta give him extra points for not sounding like karaoke as other contestants did and fearlessly letting his freak-flag fly high week after week.

'Tracks of My Tears' by The Miracles
Adam's super-high energy, crazy performances which I absolutely love, aside; he also sounds stunning singing without his signature rock wail. On 'Motown' night (Top 10 Performance), he performed a magnificent and engulfing acoustic version of 'Tracks of My Tears' by The Miracles. He simply chilled on a stool; hair slicked back and sang his heart and soul out for the audiences. What a memorable swooning rendition! Smokey Robinson, the week's mentor and the original singer-songwriter, gave him a standing ovation with his thumb up. The judges all loved it very much. Kara DioGuardi even got to her feet to applaud Adam and thought he showed 'artistry', while Simon thought he delivered the night's best performance and he became a star in his eyes.
oxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo
'Play That Funky Music' by Wild Cherry
For his Top 9 Performance (Top Downloads week), Adam gave Wild Cherry's 'Play That Funky Music' another phenomenal soaring spin and the special vocal arrangement highlighted his thrilling octaves, leaving the crowd in high spirits and awe. He's a clear-cut frontman by a landslide. All four judges liked it. Paula even compared him to Mick Jagger and Steven Tyler, while Randy thought that he was definitely in the star zone.

'Mad World' by Fears for Tears
Gary Jules' 'Mad World' is one of my top 10 favorite songs of all time (not the Fears for Tears' version though). It's a pity that this song never reached the number one spot of any charts in the world, but Adam did it a justice. He did an incredibly awesome job with the change-ups and made it his own. His version was freaking gorgeous up to that sour last note and Simon's standing ovation for this performance said it all. For me, this particular emotional and heartfelt version even surpasses the original or any other versions I've ever heard. He sang it with confidence and so much feelings coming from the heart. You could actually hear his vocal cords shredding. Brilliant! Together with his clean look and a queer touch of blue lights expressing the goal of the songwriter – 'looking out at a mad world from the eyes of a teenager', he totally hypnotized the whole world. In fact, it gave me chills and goosebumps! I mean, David Cook's 'Hello' had the wow factor that blew me away, but this song just blew me further away into space and made me jump off my seat and shout with excitement from the inside out! I've been compelled to rewind his performance over, over and over again ever since. God knows how many times!

'Born to Be Wild' by Steppenwolf
Adam was in his full rock star mode and gave a stellar performance, pushing it to altogether different levels, by singing Steppenwolf's 'Born to be Wild' from the 1969 film Easy Ride on 'Songs from the Cinema' night (first Top 7 Performance). Paula gushed saying he was one of the bravest contestants she's ever witnessed, while Simon said it was vocally incredible. He's not only born to be wild, but also born to be a rock star. And he proved himself that with this striking rockin' performance.
oxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo
'If I Can't Have You' by Yvonne EllimanOn 'Disco' night (second Top 7 Performance), Adam, looked oh so handsome in his black suit, once again brought the house down with his authentic and angelic sound of voice singing a slow, passionate version of Yvonne Elliman's 'If I Can't Have You'. It was disco night. I thought for sure he'd ham it up. Nope. He took us all by surprise with his beautifully arranged rendition and it moved the judges and the audiences with tremendous emotion. Simon described his vocals as 'immaculate' and Paula was even reduced to tears. When a song brings you to tears, you know it's freaking damn good. Impeccable!
oxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo
'Feeling Good' by Sammy Davis Jr
Adam glamorously delivered Sammy Davis Jr's 'Feeling Good' on 'Rat Pack Standards' night (Top 5 Performance). Adam took the song to another whole new level with his theatrical way of performing. He, again looked oh so handsome in his white suit, strutted down a neon pink-lighted staircase while seductively crooning the song. He started simply slow but quickly vamped it up. It's ravishing, flashy and sensual, and when he went for the glory ending note, it's SPECTACULAR, probably the biggest, longest, highest glory ending note in Idol history. It's entertainment at its best and you can't beat that. Paula claimed that she was almost feeling that she was in the Olympics and Adam was Michael Phelps, while Simon declared that Adam was the 'best entrance' they had this year.

Interview with Adam Lambert (Top 4):
'Whole Lotta Love' by Led Zeppelin
During Rock Week (Top 4 Performance), each contestant got to sing two songs, one solo and one duet. For the solo part, Adam chose to sing Led Zeppelin's 'Whole Lotta Love' and rocked the stage with his exquisitely rockin' performance, hitting a series of high notes and rock screams. Getting to sing one of his all-time favorite tunes and having the opportunity to sing with the week's mentor - Slash, Adam obviously felt very at-home and empowered on stage and had a lot of fun. Randy praised him as 'Rock Star'; Kara praised him as a 'Rock God'; and Simon thought his performance was unbeatable that "Nobody can top that now."
oxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo
'Slow Ride' by Foghat
For the duet part, (Top 4 Performance), Adam and Allison Iraheta perfectly rocked Foghat's 'Slow Ride'. This duet was absolutely fantastic. It indeed highlighted Adam's strengths, demonstrated his uniqueness, and showcased his powerhouse voice. Kara called the pair 'Rock God and Rock Goddess'. I was only glad that they got to sing ROCK together! Neither overshadowed the other and they supported each other vocally. They are both rockers at heart. It totally worked!
oxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo
'One' by U2
For the 'Judge's Choice & Contestant's Choice' week (Top 3 Performance), the contestants each had to perform one song choice from the judges, and one from their own. Bono gave major props to Adam by allowing Simon to choose the U2 hit 'One' for Adam to rock out to. It's quite an ambitious choice, but Adam pulled it off fabulously and captivatingly which deeply touched America's hearts. Kara loved that he changed it up and thought it was unbelievable, while Paula said she's staring at an 'American Idol'. Simon even predicted him going to the finals.
oxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo
'Crying' by Aerosmith
Shocker! Adam chose to sing Aerosmith's 'Crying' and did the arranging on his own. Obviously, he knows where his unique qualities lie and uses them to his best advantage every time he takes the stage. He knows exactly what he can sing, which is honestly just about anything. He truly knows about showmanship and how to best pick songs and design performances to sell Adam Lambert. He rocked the stage, he rocked the song, and he rocked out with vocals that probably nobody on earth is capable of matching. Simon even brought everyone back down to Earth and told America that no one should assume Adam will be in the finals and that people should vote for him so he earns his spot in the last show.

Adam Lambert - SAN DIEGO Homecoming (Top 2)
San Diego planned a full day of activities scheduled for Adam on May 8, 2009 to show all their love and support. Thousands of fans greeted him with signs and loud screams wanting autographs, pictures, and a hug. The day began with interviews at Fox 5 TV studio along with radio appearances on The Jeff & Jer Show and AJs Playhouse. A parade was scheduled to take him from the radio station to the Mount Carmel high school where he performed a couple of songs and Mayor Jerry Sanders declared Friday to be "Adam Lambert Day" in San Diego. His final stop was Miramar Naval Base where Marines, sailors and their families were in attendance.

Interview with Adam Lambert and Kris Allen (Top 2):
'Mad World' by Fears for Tears
The finalists each had to sing 3 songs on the season finale (Top 2 Performance). The first was their choice of a prior song; the second was chosen by producer Simon Fuller; and the last one was a song co-written by Kara. In Round One, Adam chose to sing 'Mad World' again. Smart move! He walked down the staircase in fancy fog and lights in his trenchcoat. Very mysteriously appealing 'Twilight' kinda feeling! It's another hauntingly soul-moving rendition. I really liked the whole 'trenchcoat/Matrix' look and style that Adam sported on stage, but the whole dry ice/fog effect seemed a bit too much which made it kinda like 'Phantom of the Opera' or something as Simon called it 'overly theatrical'. Anyway, I appreciated the haunting, moody and dramatic ensemble he put together there.
oxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo
'A Change Is Gonna Come' by Sam Cooke
In Round Two, Adam sang Sam Cooke's 'A Change is Gonna Come' which was an excellent song choice by Simon Fuller! His performance was absolutely flawless! His key, his pitch on this song, his version, his modifications, everything was just PERFECT!!! He showcased all his strengths, went from that incredible low to that unreal high, and was utterly awesome on everything in between. I strongly agreed with Paula that Adam will be an icon in the music industry no matter how his Idol journey turns out.
oxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo
'No Boundaries' co-written by Kara DioGuardi
In Round Three, the finalists must tackle the new Kara co-write song 'No Boundaries'. Like most coronation songs, it's a horrific song. It did neither finalist any favors, and it left most people on a sour note. How poor Adam and Kris were that night, being forced to sing such stupid, crappy song! Frankly, I think Adam sang it better than Kris simply because he showcased better vocal and more confidence and passion. In any case, he could still manage to put on a show out of this and entertain you.
oxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo
A Medley of 'Beth', 'Detroit Rock City' and 'Rock & Roll All Night' - Performance with KISS
'Idol' results show finale (May 20, 2009), Adam certainly put on a show. He started singing 'Beth' and was later joined by legendary rock band 'KISS' for a rendition of 'Detroit Rock City' and 'Rock & Roll All Night'. It was audaciously and tremendously awesome and they totally rocked the house!! Adam was officially a real 'Rock God' that night. It's exactly the way I would imagine him doing in his own concerts. He even did out-glam 'KISS' with his kinda David-Bowie-flamboyant-gothy look (metal shoulder wings, accompanying by jeweled eye-liner, black nail polish, cool jacket and insane platform boots...etc.). He's just like a rock 'n roll rebel and is probably the best rockin' thing that has ever happened to 'Idol'.
oxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo
'We Are The Champions' - Performance with Queen
To cap off the night, Adam and Kris joined Queen in a show-stopping rendition of 'We Are the Champions' which was a fantastic song, figuratively and musically. Maybe it's just that whoever you put Adam with, ends up shining. Soon after the season finale, it was rumored that Queen asked Adam to join the band as lead singer.
ADAM LAMBERT - WHAT'S NEW AFTER 'AMERICAN IDOL'?
Adam Lambert signs to 19 Recordings
Adam has been signed to 19 Recordings and licensed to RCA Records. He's preparing to start work on his debut album which is due for release in fall 2009. Actually, he will be recording his album over the summer while on the road with the "American Idols Live tour" which kicks off on July 5, 2009. His debut single, 'No Boundaries' was released on May 20, 2009 on iTunes with Kris' version. Adam had four songs on the Billboard Hot 100 chart earlier this summer. With his masterful interpretation of "Mad World" leading the way, he also charted with "No Boundaries", "A Change Is Gonna Come" and "One".
